“Self Study ls The Best Study” says Mr. Bharat  Malik, Chairman of AryaGlobal Group of Schools. St. Mary’s welcomes the Government’s decision to close tuition classes that admit children below 16 years. Teachers vow to strengthen students’ base.

St.Mary’s High School, Chakki Naka, Kalyan organised their Annual Day 2023-24 in Savitribai Phule Auditorium, Dombivili. A drama adaptation of the book ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio was intricately woven. The sensitive concept of inclusion was the highlight of the event. “All of us feel the need to be included, whenever we are in new and unfamiliar situations”, said Principal, Mrs. Divya Borse, throwing a new light to the concept of inclusion. She said that it is important to sow the seeds of empathy in the young and impressionable minds of children.

The young actors who played the roles of Aditya, a boy with a rare facial deformity, his parents and his school friends, were exceptional in their acting skills. The heart-touching songs and dialogues moved the audience.  

Prominent personalities such as Additional Commissioner of Police Shri Sunil Kurade and Sub-Editor Lokmat Newspaper Shri Aniket Ghamandi were present as Chief guest and guests respectively. In his speech Shri Kurade appreciated the dedication of the management and the teachers, and their involvement in providing not just an educational institution, but a haven of learning. Shri. Ghamandi pointed out how the singers, anchors and voice over artists rendered their speeches without referring to any script, depicting the level of preparation of the students.

The stage was shared by Miss Trupti Jambharunkar, a Clinical Researcher from London and an alumnus of St. Mary’s, Chairman of AryaGlobal Group of Schools Mr. Bharat Malik, Director of Academics Arya Global Group of Schools Dr. Neelam Malik, Compliance Head Arya Global Group of Schools Dr. Vinda Bhuskute and other directors and management heads. Mrs. Radhamani Iyer, Principal Arya Gurukul Nandivili and Mr. Nilesh Rathod, Principal Arya Gurukul Ambernath also attended as a part of the St. Mary’s fraternity.

Mr. Bharat Malik shared an important message on reducing the burden from the shoulders of our children. Stating facts and figures, he made the audience aware of how coaching classes add to the burden on students and increase their stress levels, leading to suicides. He displayed a crucial move taken by the Union ministry of education has issued a new set of guidelines for private coaching classes. The coaching institutes will no longer admit students below 16 years of age.

The event ended on a positive note with all parents taking the below oath in unison “We the parents and students of St. Mary’s High School are here to take a pledge to be self reliant and responsible and not to be dependent on external coaching. We pledge to seek the help from all our teachers and parents which will make us Happy. Happy Child Happy Nation!”
