Overview

Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences is sited amidst the hills of Shimla on the Oachghat-Kumarhatti Road at an altitude of about 1500 metres. It is located at a distance of 15 km from Solan, 54 km from Chandigarh and 18 km from Dharampur and well connected from Delhi, Chandigarh and Kalka. The university’s reputed and internationally trained faculty deliver undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes across various disciplines such as engineering and technology, biotechnology, management sciences and liberal arts, pharmaceutical and basic sciences. The university is sited on a state-of-the-art wi-fi enabled campus that hosts well-maintained labs and classrooms, a well-stocked library, hostels with mess and canteen, a world class sports complex equipped with gym, badminton court etc. 

Academics

Shoolini University offers over 180 courses at the UG, PG and PhD levels across multiple streams such as Engineering, Management, Commerce, Pharmacy, Law, etc. It also offers lateral entry admissions and summit research programmes for Engineering stream. Moreover, the university has tie-ups with more than 190 educational institutions located across the globe.

General Information

Admission

The university offers admission to all the courses on the basis of candidates' performance in course-specific entrance exams. It also offers merit-based admission to some of the courses. To be eligible for admission, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria set for all its courses. A common eligibility criteria for both UG and PG courses is:

• Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses: For Shoolini University UG admission, candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% to 75% aggregate in Class 12.
• Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses: For PG admission, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 50% to 55%.

The university has been ranked 89 under the universities category by the NIRF in 2021. It ranked in the Top 200 globally in the THE Impact rankings 2022.

Accommodation

There are separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. There are five girls hostel and four boys hostels providing accommodation to 800-1000 students. The rooms are well equipped with furnitures and fixtures. Round the clock security is provided for the safety of the students. Sound medical facility and cafeteria with hygienic food is available for the students.
