Holidays provide perfect opportunities to tune children into nature.

If vacationing in a new habitat, use the opportunity to investigate the flora and fauna together. Make sure you bring home plenty of nature souvenirs and pictures for your scrapbook.

If visiting the seaside, collect and bring home different types of shells and sand. If you are in a mountainous area, look for flowers to dry and press and leaves with interesting shapes.

And if staycationing (staying at home) for the holidays, adopt a green garden caterpillar and follow its metamorphosis from caterpillar to chrysalis to gorgeous butterfly.
