Samsung digital skilling initiative
Gurugram, November 23. Under its flagship programme — Samsung Innovation Campus — Samsung India Electronics, one of India’s largest consumer electronics companies, has upskilled 3,000 under-privileged students from eight cities countrywide. This programme trains them in future tech domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Coding & Programming, to make them job ready, and get appropriate placements.
In this programme, Samsung has partnered with the Union government to empower the country’s youth under the latter’s Digital India initiative. Over the past year, the Samsung Innovation Campus programme was executed by Electronics Sectors Skills Council of India (ESSCI) through its nationwide network of approved training and education partners. The final batch of 120 students of Samsung Innovation Campus are from the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
“Through Samsung Innovation Campus, we want to empower the youth and create opportunities for them in future tech domains, to boost India’s growth story and strengthen our commitment to the country. We are elated to have witnessed such talent and potential in these students who are now ready and skilled to digitally transform the world around us,” said Hyun Kim, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia, speaking on the occasion.
S2M-FGES concordat
Bengaluru, november 2. Stones2Milestones (S2M), a Gurugram-based education technology company, signed a collaboration agreement with Finnish Global Education Solutions (FGES), a member institution of the Finnish National Agency for Education.
Under the partnership agreement, the two enterprises are “set to revolutionise education worldwide,” by introducing Finnish pedagogies in Indian schools — with an initial focus on literacy and numeracy — and develop advanced technology solutions for global deployment. FGES expressed keen interest in adopting S2M’s fREADom reading app into their educational portfolio, given its proven success in enhancing English reading skills.
“We are enthusiastic about launching S2M’s flagship product, the fREADom reading app, on the international stage. Together, our two companies are poised to introduce groundbreaking solutions that will benefit learners worldwide,” said Antti Kaskinen, CEO of FGES.
Kavish Gadia, co-founder of Stones2Milestones, is equally enthused about this partnership. “S2M’s technological expertise and extensive reach in India will enable us to bring the best Finnish solutions to India while allowing us to jointly develop world-class technology solutions for FGES to take to the global stage,” he added.
Mercedes Benz-IISc agreement
Bengaluru, november 22. Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI, estb.1996) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (IISc, estb.1908) for advanced research collaboration. The objective of this agreement is an industry-academia partnership towards achieving Mercedes-Benz’s Ambition 2039, to manufacture a fleet of new carbon-neutral motor cars.
The partnership will focus on driving engineering transformation and pursuing long-term research-oriented projects. Both organisations will leverage each other’s capabilities including infrastructure and academic programs to facilitate joint research, nurture talent, and promote collaborative innovation in sustainable mobility.
“Leading industry players, premier academic institutions, and India’s world-class talent are poised to lead the EV revolution today. We are excited by the possibilities of working closely with IISc and look forward to bringing the best of Indian engineering research to the global stage,” said Manu Saale, Managing Director and CEO, MBRDI, speaking on the occasion.

TVS Credit’s EPIC 5.0
Chennai, november 1. TVS Credit Services’ EPIC Campus Challenge concluded its fifth season surpassing an extraordinary milestone. The number of registrations crossed 96,000 — a growth of over 100 percent over the previous year.
Students from prestigious institutions including IIM-Ahmedabad, XLRI, Jamshedpur, JBIMS-Mumbai, IIFT-Delhi, SVKM’s NMIMS University Mumbai, and IIT-Kharagpur participated in EPIC 5.0 which is open to college students to showcase their technical skills and win cash awards.
The competitive programme provides an online platform for participants to showcase their skills in IT, strategy, finance and analytics culminating in a grand finale in which shortlisted teams presented innovative solutions to a distinguished jury panel. This year, EPIC offered prizes of up to Rs.10 lakh-plus with placement opportunities.
“The EPIC Campus Challenge has emerged as a powerful conduit for engaging top-tier talent. EPIC promotes growth mindset and innovation.
