Overview

Named after the country’s first Nobel laureate, the eponymous Dr. CV Raman University aspires to inculcate his commitment to excellence among its students. The university was set up in 2006 in an economically under-developed area of Chhattisgarh with a view to take up education, research, training and extension activities in the region. At present, the university runs 8 faculties with 26 departments which offers UG, PG and Diploma programmes. The university boasts dedicated, skilled and competent faculty members with outstanding leadership qualities. The university has an excellent Placement and Training Cell that provides career support and ensures maximum placement of students.

Campus

Spread over 48 acres on Kargi Road, Kota Bilaspur, CVRU Bilaspur hosts modern amenities and infrastructure to enable students to prepare themselves for the competitive world that awaits them outside the campus. The campus houses girls’ and boys’ hostels, well resourced library, girls’ common room, Wi-Fi network, video conferencing facility, a cafeteria, e-learning facility, research cell and conference hall, medical aid, well-equipped gym, sports facilities, gymnasium, and a guest house.

Admission

Application forms can be collected from the CVRU campus/Authorised Centres by cash payment of Rs. 150/- D.D. / Cash. The university also offers scholarship on the basis of student merit as follows Toppers of each State Board and Central Board -100 percent Tuition Fee waiver for all the four years. CVRU Entrance Exam 1 to 10 rank holders - 50 percent Tuition Fee waiver for all the four years. CVRU Entrance Exam 11 to 50 rank holders - 25 percent Tuition Fee waiver for all the four years. CVRU Entrance Exam 51 to 100 rank holders - 15 percent Tuition Fee waiver for all the four years.

Accommodation

The university hostel can accommodate more than 150 students. The hostel amenities include common rooms with TV sets, carrom boards, other recreational and amusement facilities, comfortable rooms, among others. The university also has a fleet of buses to cater to the transportation needs of students and staff. The university has a modern guest house with more than 15 well furnished rooms with attached baths, a dining area, recreation area, lounges and conference rooms to host guests.
