The BJP announced plans to introduce the Uniform Civil Code in Telangana if they win the state’s November 30 Assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the party’s manifesto, affirming the formation of a committee for the UCC, aiming for its implementation within six months. The manifesto detailed promises including abolishing unconstitutional religion-based reservations, increasing quotas for OBCs, SCs, and STs, and appointing a commission to investigate alleged corruption.

The party pledged to reduce VAT on fuel, provide free annual LPG cylinders, and replace the current land administration portal with a more secure system. Other commitments encompassed financial aid for farmers, laptops for college girls, and a fixed deposit for newborn girls, among various welfare measures.

Additionally, the BJP vowed to appoint Telangana’s first BC Chief Minister, commemorate ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day,’ fast-track SC sub-categorization in reservations, and develop a Turmeric City in Nizamabad. Plans for healthcare coverage, infrastructure development, job creation, and deportation of illegal immigrants were also part of their manifesto.

Furthermore, proposals included creating an Anti-Radicalisation Cell, prohibiting polygamy and polyandry among public servants, offering nominal interest loans to women’s Self Help Groups, ensuring cow protection, and providing house site pattas to eligible villagers.
